What Is USB-A?

This is why product specifications are more useful than simply looking at whether a port is USB-A or USB-C.
Why Is USB-A Still Used?
USB-A has been part of the USB ecosystem for many years. There are already large numbers of USB-A computers, chargers, cables, accessories, and peripherals in use.
As newer devices move to USB-C, existing USB-A equipment does not suddenly become unusable.
Instead, the two connector types can work together.
A USB-A port on a computer can connect to a USB-C accessory. A USB-A power bank can charge a USB-C phone. A USB-A wall charger can work with a USB-A to USB-C cable.
This makes USB-A less of a separate technology from USB-C and more of a connector that continues to appear in many existing charging and connectivity setups.
